Indications
Cefalver Suspension is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria susceptible to cephalexin. These may include respiratory tract infections, middle ear infections, skin and skin structure infections, as well as urinary tract infections. It can also be used in the treatment of certain staphylococcal and streptococcal infections. It is important to perform a culture and antibiogram to determine bacterial susceptibility before starting treatment.
Composition
Each 5 ml of Cefalver Suspension contains 250 mg of cephalexin, as well as excipients that facilitate product formulation.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalexin, other beta-lactam antibiotics, or any component of the formula. It should not be administered to patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to penicillins or cephalosporins.
Precautions
Caution is advised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, especially colitis. In case of severe or persistent diarrhea, the possibility of pseudomembranous colitis should be considered. Additionally, renal function should be monitored in patients with renal insufficiency, as drug elimination may be affected.
Storage
Store Cefalver Suspension in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, and protect from light. Once opened, it is recommended to use the product within a specific period of time indicated on the packaging. Do not use after the expiration date.
