Indications

Cefagen (Cefuroxime) is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. These infections may include, but are not limited to, respiratory tract infections such as sinusitis and pneumonia, middle ear infections (otitis media), skin and soft tissue infections, as well as urinary tract infections. Cefuroxime is effective against various bacterial strains and is commonly used in the treatment of complicated and uncomplicated infections. It is essential to perform a culture and sensitivity test to determine the susceptibility of the organism to the antibiotic before initiating treatment.

Composition

Each Cefagen tablet contains 500 mg of cefuroxime axetil as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and stability.

Contraindications

The use of Cefagen is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or to any component of the formula. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other beta-lactam antibiotics.

Precautions

Cefagen should be used with caution in patients with renal insufficiency, as dose adjustment may be necessary. Likewise, the use of the medication should be evaluated in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, especially colitis. During treatment, it is essential to monitor for any signs of adverse reactions, and the possibility of superinfection with non-susceptible organisms should be considered.

Store Cefagen in its original packaging at room temperature, protected from light and humidity. Keep out of reach of children.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
