Indications

Cefagen is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections susceptible to cefuroxime, including:

  • Upper and lower respiratory tract infections, such as sinusitis, pharyngitis, and pneumonia.
  • Skin and soft tissue infections.
  • Urinary tract infections.
  • Osteoarticular infections.

This medication works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, resulting in the death of bacteria sensitive to cefuroxime. The choice of cefuroxime should be based on the evaluation of pathogen susceptibility in each specific case.

Composition

Each Cefagen tablet contains:

  • Cefuroxime axetil 250 mg.
  • Excipients: Lactose, starch, magnesium stearate, among others.

Contraindications

Cefagen is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cefuroxime or any other component of the formula. Special caution should be exercised in patients with a history of allergic reactions to beta-lactam antibiotics.

Precautions

Cefagen should be used with caution in patients with renal insufficiency, as well as in those with a history of colitis. It is important to monitor for adverse reactions during treatment.

Store at room temperature, in a dry and cool place, protected from light and out of reach of children.

  1. Free home delivery by local branches on orders over $1000. Otherwise, a $50 fee will be added in the cities of Querétaro and La Paz, BCS, and $150 in San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, BCS.
  2. FREE national shipping via ground on orders over $1,500.00. Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
  3. In case of oversized items, the corresponding fee will apply according to the parcel service.
