Indications

Capsicof is indicated for the treatment of dry cough, as well as for the relief of symptoms associated with respiratory conditions that present with irritation of the respiratory tract. Its action is based on the local anesthesia of the cough reflex receptors in the respiratory tract. This medication may be useful in patients with persistent and non-productive cough, helping to improve quality of life during episodes of acute or chronic respiratory diseases. Additionally, its use is recommended in cases where cough may interfere with patient rest or in situations where it is necessary to avoid coughing during medical procedures.

Composition

Each Capsicof capsule contains 100 mg of benzonatate as the active ingredient, as well as excipients necessary for its formulation.

Contraindications

Capsicof is contraindicated in patients with known allergy to benzonatate or to any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis. Likewise, it should not be administered to children under 10 years of age due to the risk of serious adverse effects.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of respiratory problems, central nervous system depression, or those who are being treated with other medications that may cause sedation. It is important to avoid excessive use of Capsicof, as it can cause adverse effects such as drowsiness or confusion. It is recommended to consult a doctor before starting treatment, especially in patients with chronic diseases or who are taking other drugs.

Storage

Capsicof should be stored in a cool, dry place, protected from direct light. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
