Indications
Brintellix is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder in adults. Vortioxetine, its active ingredient, acts as a serotonin modulator, helping to improve mood and alleviate symptoms associated with depression. This medication can be used in patients who have experienced recurrent episodes of depression, as well as in those seeking an alternative to other antidepressant treatments. It is important that the use of Brintellix is supervised by a healthcare professional, who will determine the appropriate dose and duration of treatment, considering the individual characteristics of the patient.
Composition
Each Brintellix tablet contains 10 mg of vortioxetine, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption. It is essential to check the leaflet for the complete list of inactive components.
Contraindications
Brintellix is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to vortioxetine or any of the components of the formula. Likewise, its use is not recommended in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or in patients who are in a state of mania or hypomania.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of seizure disorders, as well as in those with a history of mania or hypomania. It is important that patients inform their doctor about any medications they are taking, including herbal treatments, to avoid interactions that may affect the efficacy of Brintellix treatment. Close monitoring of patients is also recommended during the initiation of treatment and during any dose adjustment.
Storage
Store the medication at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, and keep it away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
