Indications
Bredelin is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia and bronchitis, as well as urinary tract infections and some skin and soft tissue infections. This medication works by inhibiting bacterial DNA synthesis, which results in the death of bacteria sensitive to levofloxacin. It is important to mention that the decision to use Bredelin should be based on the identification of the causative organism and its sensitivity to levofloxacin.
Composition
Each Bredelin tablet contains 500 mg of levofloxacin as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients that facilitate its formulation and stability.
Contraindications
Bredelin use is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to levofloxacin or other drugs of the same class (fluoroquinolones). It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of tendinitis or tendon rupture related to fluoroquinolone use.
Precautions
Caution is recommended when administering Bredelin to patients with a history of central nervous system diseases, kidney failure, as well as those who are being treated with other medications that may prolong the QT interval. It is important to monitor for adverse effects and adjust the dose in patients with impaired renal function.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
