Indications

Bipitrek is indicated for the treatment of major depression in adults. It is also used as an adjunctive treatment for smoking cessation and for the management of seasonal affective disorder episodes. Bupropion, its active ingredient, acts as a dopamine and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, which contributes to mood improvement and reduction of depressive symptoms. It is important that its use is supervised by a physician, who will assess the specific benefits and risks for each patient.

Composition

Each Bipitrek tablet contains 150 mg of bupropion as bupropion hydrochloride, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and administration.

Contraindications

Bipitrek is contraindicated in patients with a history of seizures, eating disorders (such as bulimia or anorexia), and in those who are being treated with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). It should also be avoided in individuals with known hypersensitivity to the components of the formula.

Precautions

Special care should be taken in patients with a history of psychiatric disorders, as well as in those with liver or kidney problems. It is important to monitor patients who develop new symptoms or whose symptoms worsen during treatment. Bipitrek should not be used during pregnancy and lactation unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
