Indications
Biotrefon L is indicated for the treatment of vitamin B12 deficiencies and certain neuropathies, as well as for the management of conditions requiring cobamamide supplementation. This medicine is used in cases of megaloblastic anemia, peripheral neuropathies, and as part of the treatment of diseases associated with the deficiency of this vitamin, which is essential for the proper formation of red blood cells and the maintenance of neurological health.
Composition
Each sachet of Biotrefon L contains 1000 mcg of cobamamide as the active ingredient. It also includes excipients necessary for the powder formulation.
Contraindications
Biotrefon L is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cobamamide or any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in individuals with medical conditions that prohibit the administration of vitamin B12 or its derivatives, as well as in patients with iron deficiency anemia that cannot be corrected with the use of vitamin B12.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Biotrefon L to patients with severe kidney disease, as well as those with a history of allergic reactions to other vitamin supplements. It is important to monitor vitamin B12 levels in patients undergoing prolonged treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature and out of reach of children. Avoid exposure to direct light and do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
