Indications
Biomics Suspension is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections in various areas of the body. It is particularly effective in respiratory tract infections, including pharyngitis and tonsillitis, as well as middle ear infections (otitis media). It is also used in the treatment of urinary tract infections, such as cystitis and pyelonephritis. This medication works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, which leads to the death of susceptible bacteria.
Composition
Each 5 ml of suspension contains 100 mg of cefixime. Additionally, it contains excipients such as sorbitol, xanthan gum, and flavoring agents to improve the product's palatability.
Contraindications
Biomics is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or any component of the formula. It should not be administered to patients with severe renal insufficiency without proper medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering this medication to patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, especially colitis. It is essential to monitor renal function in patients undergoing prolonged treatment. In case of allergic reactions, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted immediately.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C (59 and 86 °F). Keep the container tightly closed and out of reach of children. Do not refrigerate or freeze.
