Indications

Biomics Suspension is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections sensitive to cefixime, including, but not limited to: upper respiratory tract infections (otitis media, sinusitis), lower respiratory tract infections (pneumonia), uncomplicated urinary tract infections, and some gastrointestinal infections. Cefixime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, resulting in bacterial death. It is important to perform a culture and antibiogram to ensure the microorganism's sensitivity to the treatment.

Composition

Each 5 ml of suspension contains: Cefixime 100 mg. Excipients: Flavorings, preservatives, and other excipients necessary for the formulation of the suspension.

Contraindications

Biomics Suspension is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or to any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other beta-lactam antibiotics.

Precautions

Special care should be taken in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease, particularly colitis, as antibiotic use can alter normal flora and cause superinfection. Renal function should be monitored in patients with renal insufficiency, and the dose should be adjusted accordingly. It should not be used for viral infections, as it has no activity against viruses.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
