Indications

Binotal (Ampicillin) is indicated for the treatment of susceptible bacterial infections, such as:

  • Respiratory tract infections, including pneumonia and bronchitis.
  • Ear, nose, and throat infections, such as otitis media and sinusitis.
  • Urinary tract infections, such as cystitis and pyelonephritis.
  • Skin and soft tissue infections, such as abscesses and cellulitis.
  • Gastrointestinal infections, including gastroenteritis caused by susceptible organisms.

Ampicillin acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to the death of susceptible bacteria.

Composition

Each 5 ml of suspension contains:

  • Ampicillin (as ampicillin trihydrate) 250 mg.
  • Excipients q.s. for 5 ml.

Contraindications

Binotal is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ampicillin or any other component of the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other beta-lactam antibiotics.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Binotal to patients with a history of allergies, asthma, or gastrointestinal diseases. Renal function tests are recommended, especially in patients with a history of kidney problems. Ampicillin may alter the normal intestinal flora, which could allow for the overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms.

Storage

Store at room temperature (between 15 and 30 °C). Keep the bottle tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.

  1. Free home delivery by local branches on orders over $1000. Otherwise, a $50 fee will be added in the cities of Querétaro and La Paz, BCS, and $150 in San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, BCS.
  2. FREE national shipping via ground on orders over $1,500.00. Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
  3. In case of oversized items, the corresponding fee will apply according to the parcel service.
