Indications
Binotal is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections susceptible to ampicillin. These include, but are not limited to, respiratory tract infections, ear infections, urinary tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, and some skin and soft tissue infections. Ampicillin is effective against a variety of microorganisms, including strains of Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, and Escherichia coli. It is important to perform a culture and antibiogram to determine the sensitivity of the microorganism causing the infection before starting treatment.
Composition
Each capsule contains: Ampicillin 1 mg, excipients q.s. for 1 capsule.
Contraindications
Binotal is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ampicillin or other antibiotics of the penicillin group. Its use should also be avoided in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to any antibiotic. Its use is not recommended for infections caused by microorganisms that are not susceptible to ampicillin.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Binotal to patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, especially colitis. It is important to assess patients' renal function before starting treatment, as dosage adjustment may be necessary in patients with renal insufficiency. During ampicillin treatment, allergic reactions and adverse effects should be monitored.
