Indications

Berniver Cream is indicated for the treatment of superficial skin infections caused by bacteria sensitive to mupirocin. These include impetigo, folliculitis, and other skin infections that can be treated topically. It is also used for the prophylaxis of infections in surgical wounds and for the treatment of skin lesions in burn patients, where prevention of Gram-positive microbial infections is required. Mupirocin works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, leading to cell death of susceptible pathogens, thus resolving the infection and facilitating skin healing.

Composition

Each 100 g of Berniver Cream contains 2 g of mupirocin as the active ingredient. Excipients: purified water, petrolatum, lanolin, among others.

Contraindications

Berniver Cream is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to mupirocin or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended on extensive skin areas, deep wounds, or third-degree burns.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when applying Berniver to areas of skin with severe irritation. In case of adverse reactions, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted. It should not be used in combination with other topical products without the supervision of a healthcare professional. Furthermore, it is important to avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
