Indications
Beneventol is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections affecting various parts of the body. It is primarily used in the treatment of respiratory tract infections, including sinusitis, pharyngitis, and otitis media. It is also effective in the management of urinary tract infections and some digestive infections. Cefixime, its active ingredient, works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, resulting in the death of susceptible bacteria. It is essential to perform a culture and antibiogram to ensure the sensitivity of the microorganism causing the infection before starting treatment.
Composition
Each 5 ml of suspension contains 100 mg of cefixime. Excipients: potassium sorbate, xanthan gum, flavoring, and purified water.
Contraindications
Beneventol is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cefixime or other cephalosporin antibiotics. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other medications.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with gastrointestinal diseases, especially colitis. It should be used with care in patients with impaired renal function, as a dose adjustment may be required. It is important to evaluate the patient's medical history before starting treatment and monitor for any adverse reactions during its use.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
