Indications
Beneventol is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by microorganisms susceptible to cefixime. It is commonly used in the treatment of respiratory tract infections, such as otitis media, sinusitis, and pneumonia. It is also prescribed for urinary tract infections and uncomplicated gonorrhea. Cefixime acts by inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, leading to bacterial death, making it a broad-spectrum antibiotic.
Composition
Each Beneventol capsule contains 400 mg of cefixime, as well as excipients necessary for the formulation of the medicine.
Contraindications
Beneventol is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cefixime or any other component of the formula. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other beta-lactam antibiotics.
Precautions
Monitoring is recommended in patients with renal insufficiency, as the dosage may require adjustment. In addition, care should be taken when administering to patients with a history of colitis, as there may be a risk of pseudomembranous colitis. It is suggested to evaluate liver and kidney function before initiating treatment. Avoid use in combination with anticoagulants, as it may increase the risk of bleeding.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
