Indications

Bectosan Syrup is indicated for the treatment of dry and productive cough associated with respiratory illnesses. Guaifenesin acts as an expectorant, facilitating the expulsion of bronchial secretions, while dextromethorphan acts as an antitussive, relieving cough. This medicine is used in adults and children over 12 years of age in cases of colds, flu, bronchitis, and other respiratory conditions that involve coughing.

Composition

Each 5 ml of Bectosan Syrup contains: 300 mg of guaifenesin and 1.5 mg of dextromethorphan.

Contraindications

This medicine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It should also be avoided in patients who are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or who have stopped taking them in the last two weeks.

Precautions

Caution is advised in patients with chronic respiratory diseases, asthma, or those with a history of substance abuse. Its use is not recommended in children under 12 years of age without medical supervision. It is important not to exceed the recommended dose and to avoid concomitant use with other medicines containing dextromethorphan.

Store at room temperature, in a cool, dry place, protected from light and humidity. Keep out of reach of children.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
