Indications
Bactocin is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by microorganisms susceptible to ofloxacin. These infections may include, but are not limited to, respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, urinary tract infections, and some gastrointestinal infections. It is also used in the treatment of otitis externa and bacterial conjunctivitis. It is important that the indication for use is made by a medical professional, who will evaluate the suitability of the treatment based on the patient's pathology and the susceptibility of the germs involved.
Composition
Each Bactocin tablet contains 400 mg of ofloxacin as the active ingredient, as well as excipients necessary for the drug's formulation.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ofloxacin, to other antibiotics in the fluoroquinolone group, or to any component of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of tendinopathy related to fluoroquinolone use. Furthermore, its use during pregnancy and lactation should be carefully evaluated.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of central nervous system diseases, as well as in those with kidney or liver problems. It is recommended to avoid direct sunlight exposure and the use of products containing iron or zinc, as they can interfere with ofloxacin absorption. Close monitoring should be performed in patients who experience symptoms of adverse reactions during treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
