Indications
Bacat is indicated for the treatment of hyperlipidemia, including the reduction of elevated levels of total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol (low-density lipoproteins), and triglycerides in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. It is also used for the prevention of cardiovascular events in patients with established coronary heart disease or at high risk of cardiovascular disease. Additionally, Bacat can be used as an adjunct to diet to help reduce the risk of myocardial infarction and stroke in patients with additional risk factors.
Composition
Each tablet contains: Atorvastatin (20 mg) as active ingredient and excipients.
Contraindications
Bacat is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to atorvastatin or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered in cases of active or persistent liver disease, as well as in pregnant or lactating women. It is also contraindicated in patients with elevated transaminase levels exceeding three times the upper limit of normal.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Bacat to patients with a history of liver disease, excessive alcohol consumption, or those with factors that may predispose them to myopathy. It is important to perform liver function tests before and during treatment to ensure proper patient monitoring.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
