Indications

Azopt (Brinzolamide) is indicated for the reduction of intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. This medication is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor that works by reducing the production of aqueous humor, which in turn decreases the pressure inside the eye. Its use is recommended in patients who have not achieved adequate control of intraocular pressure with other anti-glaucoma medications. Azopt can be used as a monotherapy or in combination with other anti-glaucoma drugs.

Composition

Each ml of Azopt contains 10 mg of Brinzolamide as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients that aid in the formulation of the product.

Contraindications

Azopt is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Brinzolamide or any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe renal insufficiency.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases or severe respiratory diseases, as well as in those with a history of allergic reactions to sulfonamides. Renal function should be evaluated before starting treatment and during its use. It is important to inform patients about the possible occurrence of side effects and the need for regular monitoring of intraocular pressure.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Protect from light and keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
