Indications

Avirena is indicated for the treatment of essential arterial hypertension in adults. The combination of Olmesartan, Amlodipine, and Hydrochlorothiazide enhances the antihypertensive effect, helping to reduce blood pressure and decrease the risk of cardiovascular complications. It can be used as initial treatment or in patients who have not achieved adequate blood pressure control with monotherapy. Continuous monitoring of blood pressure during treatment is important to assess the drug's efficacy and tolerability.

Composition

Each Avirena tablet contains:

  • Olmesartan medoxomil 40 mg
  • Amlodipine 5 mg
  • Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It should not be used in patients with a history of angioedema related to previous treatments with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) or in patients with severe renal insufficiency. It is also contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.

Precautions

Renal function is recommended to be assessed before and during treatment, especially in patients with a history of kidney disease. In patients with diabetes mellitus or heart failure, special care and monitoring are required during treatment. It is important to adjust the dose in case of hypotension or renal dysfunction.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
