Indications
Avirena is indicated for the treatment of arterial hypertension. Its combined formulation of olmesartan, amlodipine, and hydrochlorothiazide allows for effective blood pressure reduction, contributing to the prevention of cardiovascular complications in hypertensive patients. This medication can be used as initial treatment in patients requiring stricter blood pressure control or in those who have not achieved adequate control with monotherapy. Avirena may also be indicated in patients with essential hypertension and those with a history of cardiovascular disease.
Composition
Each Avirena tablet contains: 40 mg Olmesartan medoxomil, 5 mg Amlodipine, and 12.5 mg Hydrochlorothiazide.
Contraindications
Avirena is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, as well as in those with a history of angioedema. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal failure or in those who are being treated with diuretics that may cause severe electrolyte imbalance.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with a history of liver disease, heart failure, or those who are on concomitant treatment with other antihypertensives. It is important to regularly monitor blood pressure and electrolyte levels during treatment with Avirena. Renal function should be evaluated before starting and during treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature not exceeding 30 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
