Indications
Avemedit (Dexmedetomidine) is indicated for the sedation of patients in intensive care units (ICU) and during surgical procedures. This medication can be administered to patients requiring deep and controlled sedation, as well as those needing mechanical ventilation. It is especially useful in situations where rapid sedation and rapid awakening are desired, providing effective pain and anxiety management.
It is also used in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures that require the patient to be sedated and in a calm state, thus allowing these procedures to be carried out with greater comfort for both the patient and the medical staff.
Composition
Each ampoule of Avemedit contains 200 mg of Dexmedetomidine in 2 ml of solution. Excipients: water for injection, sodium chloride.
Contraindications
It should not be administered to patients with known hypersensitivity to Dexmedetomidine or any of the excipients. It is contraindicated in patients with severe bradycardia, second or third-degree atrioventricular block without a pacemaker, and in cases of severe hypotension.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, respiratory depression, or in those receiving other sedative medications. It is recommended to monitor heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation during Dexmedetomidine administration.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
