Indications
Avattor (Leflunomide) is indicated for the treatment of active rheumatoid arthritis in adults. Its use is suitable for patients who have not responded adequately to other antirheumatic treatments. Leflunomide acts by inhibiting pyrimidine synthesis, which results in decreased lymphocyte proliferation and, therefore, in the reduction of joint inflammation. It has also been used in the treatment of psoriatic arthritis. It is recommended to monitor patients during treatment, especially those with a history of liver disease, infections, or leukopenia. Therapy should be supervised by a specialist in rheumatology.
Composition
Each Avattor tablet contains 20 mg of leflunomide as the active ingredient. Excipients include: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, and other inert excipients that facilitate tablet formulation.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to leflunomide or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be used in patients with severe liver disease, severe renal failure, or those with a history of severe adverse reactions to other immunosuppressive drugs. Furthermore, its use in pregnant or breastfeeding women is contraindicated due to possible adverse effects on the fetus or infant.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of recurrent infections, autoimmune diseases, or who are undergoing treatment with other immunosuppressive drugs. It is important to perform periodic liver function tests during treatment and to evaluate blood cell count, as leflunomide can cause neutropenia and hepatotoxicity. Administration is not recommended in patients with a history of hypoproteinemia or malnutrition.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
