Indications

Auroviax is indicated for the treatment of severe bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, central nervous system infections, intra-abdominal infections, and is also used for urinary and gonococcal infections. This antibiotic is effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Ceftriaxone acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, which results in the death of the microorganism. It is important that the use of Auroviax be based on the culture and sensitivity of the causative microorganism of the infection, as well as on the clinical evaluation of the patient.

Composition

Each ampule of Auroviax contains 1 g of ceftriaxone, in addition to excipients necessary for its formulation.

Contraindications

Auroviax is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ceftriaxone or to any of the components of the formulation. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of allergies to other beta-lactam antibiotics, such as penicillins and cephalosporins. Its use is not recommended in neonates requiring calcium treatment due to the possibility of precipitate formation.

Precautions

Appropriate monitoring is suggested in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders, as well as in those with kidney or liver diseases, as this may affect drug elimination. Caution should be exercised in patients receiving concomitant treatment with other drugs that may interact with ceftriaxone. Additionally, the possibility of adverse reactions, such as Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea, should be considered.
