Indications

Amoxicillin 500 mg is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections, including, but not limited to, upper respiratory tract infections such as sinusitis and otitis media, lower respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as some gastrointestinal infections. Amoxicillin works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to the death of susceptible bacteria. It is especially effective against strains of Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, and Haemophilus influenzae, among other microorganisms. Its use should always be guided by medical evaluation and knowledge of the pathogen's susceptibility.

Composition

Each capsule of Amoxicillin 500 mg contains 500 mg of amoxicillin (as amoxicillin trihydrate) and excipients, which include corn starch, talc, and gelatin, among others.

Contraindications

Amoxicillin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to amoxicillin, other penicillin-class antibiotics, or any component of the formulation. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of allergic reactions to beta-lactam antibiotics.

Precautions

Careful evaluation is important in patients with a history of hepatobiliary or renal disease. Renal function monitoring is recommended in patients with renal impairment. Adverse reactions may include, but are not limited to, skin rashes, diarrhea, and alterations in liver function.

Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, protected from light and humidity. Keep out of reach of children.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
  3. In case of oversized items, the corresponding fee will apply according to the parcel service.
