Indications
Amifarin (Dicloxacillin) is indicated for the treatment of sensitive bacterial infections, such as respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as urinary tract infections. It is also effective in the management of certain bone and joint infections. Due to its spectrum of action, its use is recommended for infections caused by staphylococci and streptococci, as well as for the treatment of typhoid fever and other systemic infections. It is essential to perform a culture and sensitivity tests before starting treatment to ensure the effectiveness of the antibiotic.
Composition
Each Amifarin capsule contains 500 mg of Dicloxacillin, as well as the necessary excipients for its formulation.
Contraindications
Amifarin is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to dicloxacillin or other antibiotics of the tetracycline group. Its use is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as in children under 8 years of age due to the risk of adverse effects on dental and bone development.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with liver or kidney diseases, as well as in those with a history of antibiotic-associated colitis. It is important to monitor liver and kidney function during prolonged treatment. Additionally, the use of this medication may cause adverse reactions in patients with a history of allergies or asthma.
