Indications
Amifarin (Dicloxacillin) is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to dicloxacillin. These infections may include, among others, respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as bone infections. It may also be used in the treatment of infections in patients with rheumatic fever and in cases of bacterial endocarditis, always under medical supervision. It is vital that the use of this medication is based on the sensitivity of the pathogen causing the infection, to ensure its effectiveness.
Composition
Each Amifarin capsule contains 500 mg of Dicloxacillin, as well as excipients necessary for the formulation of the medicine.
Contraindications
Amifarin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to dicloxacillin or any other component of the formula. Its use is not recommended in individuals with a history of allergy to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics. Likewise, caution should be exercised in patients with severe kidney or liver diseases.
Precautions
It is important to use Amifarin with caution in patients with a history of allergies, asthma, or in those taking other medications that may interact with dicloxacillin. Liver and kidney function tests are recommended before starting treatment. In addition, the possibility of superinfections during treatment, as well as the appearance of adverse reactions, should be evaluated.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
