Indications
Amidone (Methadone) is indicated for the treatment of severe pain, as well as for the management of opioid dependence in a detoxification context. Its use is fundamental in patients who require effective control of chronic pain, especially in those who do not respond adequately to other analgesics. Furthermore, it is used in maintenance programs for patients with opioid addiction, contributing to the reduction of withdrawal symptoms and the prevention of relapses.
Composition
Each milliliter of Amidone (Methadone) contains 10 mg of Methadone as methadone hydrochloride. Excipients: purified water, hydrochloric acid (for pH adjustment), among others.
Contraindications
Amidone is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to methadone or any of its excipients. It should not be used in patients with severe respiratory diseases or respiratory failure, as well as in those being treated with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with liver or kidney diseases, as well as in those with a history of substance abuse. It is important to monitor the response to treatment and adjust the dose as necessary. Methadone administration can cause adverse effects, including respiratory depression, so careful monitoring is recommended during treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
