Indications

Amal (Ondansetron) is indicated for the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting induced by chemotherapy and radiotherapy in adult and pediatric patients. It is also used for the prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting. This medication works by blocking the action of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that can cause nausea and vomiting. Its use is recommended in situations where a high potential for nausea is anticipated, such as in oncological treatments and surgical procedures. It is important to follow the doctor's instructions regarding the dose and duration of treatment.

Composition

Each Amal ampule contains 2 mg of Ondansetron, as well as necessary excipients for the product's formulation.

Contraindications

Amal is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ondansetron or any of the product's excipients. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of QT interval prolongation, as well as in those with severe dehydration due to vomiting.

Precautions

It should be used with caution in patients with liver disorders, and in those who are using medications that may cause QT interval prolongation. It is advisable to monitor liver function in patients receiving prolonged treatments. It is also important to consider the risk of adverse effects in elderly patients or in those with pre-existing medical conditions.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Protect from light and keep out of reach of children.
