Indications

Alphagan P is indicated for the treatment of ocular hypertension in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. This medication works by reducing intraocular pressure by decreasing the production of aqueous humor and increasing its drainage. Its use is recommended in patients who do not achieve adequate control of intraocular pressure with other anti-glaucoma medications.

Composition

Each ml of Alphagan P contains 1.5 mg of brimonidine tartrate (equivalent to 1 mg of brimonidine) and excipients: sodium chloride, disodium edetate, hydrochloric acid, and purified water.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to brimonidine or any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or those with depression or severe cardiovascular diseases.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with cardiovascular diseases, depression, or hepatic insufficiency. It is important to monitor intraocular pressure and the patient's general condition during treatment. Concomitant use with other eye drops is not recommended without proper medical supervision.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Keep the bottle tightly closed, protected from light, and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
