Indications

Alderan (Losartan) is indicated for the treatment of arterial hypertension in adults and children over 6 years of age. Additionally, it is used to reduce the risk of stroke in hypertensive patients with left ventricular hypertrophy, as well as in the treatment of congestive heart failure in adults. Losartan acts by blocking angiotensin II receptors, resulting in blood vessel dilation and a decrease in blood pressure.

Composition

Each Alderan tablet contains 50 mg of Losartan as the active ingredient, as well as excipients necessary for the formulation of the medicine.

Contraindications

Alderan is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Losartan or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered to patients with a history of angioedema associated with previous treatments with angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors or in those with bilateral renal artery stenosis.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with renal impairment, liver disease, or those on dialysis. It is important to monitor blood potassium levels, as the use of Alderan can cause hyperkalemia. Monitoring is also recommended in patients with dehydration or hypovolemia, as they may experience a significant drop in blood pressure after the initial administration of the medicine.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of reach of children. The storage temperature should not exceed 30°C.
