Indications
Alderan is indicated for the treatment of arterial hypertension in adults and children over 6 years of age. It is also used for renal protection in patients with type 2 diabetes and hypertension, as well as for the reduction of cardiovascular events in patients with established cardiovascular disease. Its mechanism of action is based on the antagonism of angiotensin II receptors, which causes blood vessel dilation and, consequently, a decrease in blood pressure. Alderan can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensives.
Composition
Each tablet contains: Losartan potassium 100 mg as active ingredient. Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, starch, lactose, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Alderan is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to losartan or to any of the excipients in the formula, as well as in those with a history of angioedema associated with previous treatment with an ACE inhibitor. Its use is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women, as it can cause fetal and neonatal harm.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of renal stenosis, hepatic or renal insufficiency, and in those receiving concomitant treatments that may affect blood pressure. Regular monitoring of renal function and electrolytes is recommended in patients treated with Alderan.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
