Indications
Afungil is indicated for the treatment of fungal infections, including vaginal candidiasis, oropharyngeal and esophageal candidiasis, as well as systemic fungal infections. It is also used for the prophylaxis of fungal infections in immunocompromised patients, such as those undergoing chemotherapeutic treatment or those with HIV/AIDS. Fluconazole works by interfering with the synthesis of the fungal cell membrane, which contributes to its effectiveness in treating these fungal infections.
Composition
Each Afungil capsule contains 150 mg of Fluconazole as the active ingredient, as well as excipients necessary for the formulation of the medicine.
Contraindications
Afungil is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fluconazole or to any of the product's excipients. Its use in combination with certain medications that may cause adverse interactions is not recommended. Caution should be exercised in patients with severe liver or kidney disease.
Precautions
Before starting treatment with Afungil, a thorough medical evaluation should be performed. Special care should be taken in patients with a history of liver disorders, as well as in those who are being treated with other medications that may affect liver function. Renal function monitoring is recommended in patients with conditions that may affect drug excretion.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
