Indications

Afumix is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by fungi and protozoa. Fluconazole is effective in treating vaginal, oropharyngeal, and esophageal candidiasis, as well as systemic fungal infections in immunocompromised patients. Tinidazole is used in the treatment of infections caused by protozoa, such as intestinal amebiasis and giardiasis, as well as anaerobic bacterial infections. This medication can be used in adults and children as prescribed by a physician.

Composition

Each Afumix tablet contains: 37.5 mg Fluconazole and 500 mg Tinidazole.

Contraindications

Afumix is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the components of the medication, as well as in those with a history of severe allergic reactions to other azole antifungals or nitroimidazoles. Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver or kidney disease, as well as in those taking other medications that may interact with fluconazole or tinidazole. Regular medical follow-up is recommended during treatment, especially in vulnerable populations. Additionally, alcohol consumption should be avoided during tinidazole treatment due to the possibility of adverse reactions.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, protected from light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
