Indications
Tranexamic acid is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic hemorrhages, as well as in situations where bleeding control is required. It is used in surgical procedures where a high risk of hemorrhage is anticipated, in hereditary hemorrhagic disorders such as hemophilia, and in cases of postpartum hemorrhage. It is also recommended for the management of patients with menorrhagia or heavy menstrual bleeding.
Composition
Each 10 ml of injectable solution contains 1 g of tranexamic acid, as well as the necessary excipients for its formulation.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of thrombosis or embolism, as well as in those with severe renal insufficiency. Its use is not recommended in patients with known hypersensitivity to tranexamic acid or to any of the components of the formulation.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with a history of coagulation disorders, kidney or liver disease. Adequate monitoring of renal function is recommended during treatment. Likewise, interaction with other anticoagulants and drugs that may affect coagulation should be considered.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
