Indications

Folic acid is a type of B vitamin that is essential for red blood cell formation and cell development. It is indicated in the treatment and prevention of folic acid deficiency, which can be related to megaloblastic anemia. Its use is also recommended for women planning to become pregnant or in the early stages of pregnancy, as it reduces the risk of neural tube defects in the fetus. It is fundamental in DNA synthesis and cell division, making it an important component during periods of rapid growth, such as in infancy and pregnancy.

Composition

Each tablet contains: Folic Acid 5 mg.

Contraindications

It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to folic acid or any of the components of the formula. It should not be used as a substitute for a balanced and healthy diet, nor in cases of anemias not related to folic acid deficiency.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of neurological problems, as the use of folic acid can mask symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency. Monitoring vitamin B12 levels is recommended for prolonged treatments. Furthermore, a doctor should be consulted before starting treatment if the patient has another medical condition or is taking other medications.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
