Indications
Folic Acid is an essential supplement primarily indicated for the prevention and treatment of folate deficiencies and megaloblastic anemia. It is especially recommended for women of childbearing age, as its intake before and during pregnancy is crucial for the proper formation of the neural tube in the fetus, reducing the risk of birth defects. Additionally, its use is suggested in cases of: gastrointestinal disorders affecting nutrient absorption, hemolysis, and in patients following unbalanced diets. Folic acid is also used as part of the management of certain types of anemia and in the treatment of some hematological disorders. Its administration is relevant in the context of public health to ensure proper prenatal development.
Composition
Each tablet contains: Folic Acid 0.4 mg.
Contraindications
The use of Folic Acid is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to this component or to any other component of the product. It should not be used in patients with megaloblastic anemia due to vitamin B12 deficiency without first being properly evaluated and treated for this condition. Its use should also be avoided in cases of cancer or in oncological treatments without medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of seizures or those undergoing treatment with antiepileptics, as folic acid may interfere with the efficacy of these medications. Similarly, in patients with kidney or liver problems, medical evaluation should be considered before starting its use.

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of reach of children. Do not expose to temperatures above 30°C.
