Indications
Acc Effervescent V is indicated as a mucolytic in the treatment of respiratory diseases involving excessive mucus production. It is used to facilitate expectoration in conditions such as bronchitis, asthma, cystic fibrosis, and other pulmonary affections. It can also be used in the prophylaxis of paracetamol toxicity, helping with liver detoxification in cases of overdose. Its mucolytic action is due to its ability to break disulfide bonds in mucus glycoproteins, thereby reducing its viscosity and facilitating its elimination.
Composition
Each effervescent tablet contains 200 mg of acetylcysteine as an active ingredient, as well as excipients that allow for the formulation and stability of the product.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to acetylcysteine or any of the excipients in the formula. Furthermore, it should not be used in cases of active gastric ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding. Caution should be exercised in patients with uncontrolled bronchial asthma and in those with a history of severe allergic reactions.
Precautions
It is recommended to evaluate liver and kidney function before starting treatment in patients with preexisting conditions. In case of adverse reactions, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted. It is important to avoid simultaneous use with other medications that may cause adverse effects on the respiratory system.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
