Indications
Donsicol (Prednisone) is indicated in the treatment of various conditions that require the anti-inflammatory and/or immunosuppressive action of corticosteroids. It is used in autoimmune diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis. It is also indicated in the treatment of severe allergic conditions, such as asthma and allergic dermatitis, as well as in the management of certain hematological neoplasms. Prednisone can be used in the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the respiratory system and in the management of asthmatic crises. In addition, it can be useful in the treatment of inflammatory ophthalmic conditions and in the management of endocrine disorders, such as adrenal insufficiency. Its use must always be under the supervision of a physician, who will evaluate the need for its administration and the duration of the treatment.
Composition
Each tablet of Donsicol contains: Prednisone 5 mg as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients that allow the formulation of the product.
Contraindications
Donsicol is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to prednisone or to any component of the formula. It should not be administered in untreated systemic infections, active tuberculosis, or in situations where immunosuppression could be harmful. Caution should be exercised in patients with peptic ulcers, osteoporosis, uncontrolled hypertension, and diabetes mellitus.
Precautions
It is important that the use of Donsicol be supervised by a physician, especially in patients with cardiovascular diseases, infections, or gastrointestinal problems. Treatment should not be stopped abruptly, and regular medical follow-up is recommended to evaluate the response to treatment and detect possible adverse effects.
