Indications
Tronium (Esomeprazole) is indicated for the treatment of various conditions related to gastric hypersecretion. This medication is used in the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in adults and children over 1 year of age, as well as in the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers. It is effective in the eradication of Helicobacter pylori when used in combination with antibiotics. It is also prescribed for the prevention of gastric ulcers in patients requiring long-term treatment with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Composition
Each Tronium capsule contains 20 mg of esomeprazole, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption.
Contraindications
Tronium is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to esomeprazole, other proton pump inhibitors, or any component of the formula. Furthermore, its use is not recommended in patients with Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and in those with a history of severe allergic reactions to this type of medication.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with severe liver disease, as the metabolism of esomeprazole may be affected. Likewise, it is important to assess the possibility of vitamin B12 deficiency in prolonged treatments, as well as to follow up with patients with a history of osteoporosis, given that prolonged use may increase the risk of fractures.
Storage
Tronium should be stored in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
