Indications

Trelegy is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and/or asthma. This medication combines a corticosteroid (fluticasone) to reduce inflammation, an anticholinergic (umeclidinium) to relax airway muscles, and a long-acting beta-agonist (vilanterol) that helps open the airways. Specific indications include:

  • Management of persistent symptoms in COPD.
  • Prevention of exacerbations in patients with moderate to severe COPD.
  • Symptom control in asthmatic patients requiring additional treatment to their current therapy.

Composition

Each dose of Trelegy contains:

  • Fluticasone: 200 mcg
  • Umeclidinium: 62.5 mcg
  • Vilanterol: 25 mcg

Contraindications

Trelegy is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe or uncontrolled asthma, or in those with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease who are not receiving adequate treatment.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and thyroid disorders. Additionally, the use of Trelegy should be evaluated in patients with respiratory or systemic infections.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
