Indications
Telarteq is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. Telmisartan acts by blocking angiotensin II receptors, resulting in the dilation of blood vessels and a decrease in blood pressure. This medication can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensives, such as diuretics, for more effective management of hypertension. In addition, telmisartan has been shown to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events in patients with hypertension and additional risk factors.
Composition
Each Telarteq tablet contains 40 mg of telmisartan as an active ingredient. In addition, it contains excipients such as lactose monohydrate, corn starch, among others, which allow for the proper formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Telarteq is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to telmisartan or any of the excipients in the formula. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of angioedema related to previous treatments with angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors or in those with severe hepatic insufficiency.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of renal insufficiency, dehydration, or those taking diuretics. It is essential to monitor renal function and electrolytes in patients initiating telmisartan treatment. Likewise, its use should be avoided in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
