Indications
Sig 2.5 mg is indicated in the treatment of essential arterial hypertension, as well as in stable chronic heart failure. This medicine acts as a selective beta-blocker, decreasing heart rate and the heart's contractile force, which contributes to the reduction of blood pressure and the load on the heart. Additionally, it can be used for the management of patients with angina pectoris and in the prevention of cardiovascular events in high-risk patients.
Composition
Each Sig tablet contains 2.5 mg of bisoprolol fumarate as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients necessary for the tablet's formulation.
Contraindications
This medicine is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to bisoprolol fumarate or any of the components of the formula. It is also contraindicated in cases of severe bradycardia, untreated second or third-degree heart block, cardiogenic shock, decompensated heart failure, and in patients with bronchial asthma or severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of asthma, diabetes mellitus, peripheral vascular disease, and in those receiving treatment with other antihypertensives. Dose adjustment is recommended in patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency, as well as in the elderly. It is important to monitor cardiac function and blood pressure during treatment.
