Indications
Raas (Telmisartan) is indicated for the treatment of high blood pressure in adults. This medication works by blocking angiotensin II receptors, which helps relax blood vessels and lower blood pressure. In addition, it can be used in patients with heart failure and to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events in patients with hypertension and type 2 diabetes, as well as in those with other associated conditions. The use of Raas can be part of a treatment regimen that includes lifestyle changes, such as diet and exercise.
Composition
Each Raas tablet contains 80 mg of telmisartan as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients such as lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch, among others.
Contraindications
Raas is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to telmisartan or any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of angioedema associated with previous treatments with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) and in those with end-stage renal disease. Its use during pregnancy is contraindicated due to potential risks to the fetus.
Precautions
Precautions should be taken in patients with renal artery stenosis, renal insufficiency, hypotension, and in those taking diuretics or antihypertensive medications. It is important to monitor kidney function and blood potassium levels during treatment. Use in patients with a history of angioedema is not recommended.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
