Indications

Nuvaring is indicated for the prevention of pregnancy in women of childbearing age. This combined hormonal contraceptive works by continuously releasing hormones that inhibit ovulation and alter cervical mucus, making fertilization difficult. It is suitable for women seeking an effective and convenient contraceptive method that does not require daily administration, as it is inserted into the vagina and left in place for three weeks. Afterwards, it is removed for one week to allow menstruation.

Composition

Each ring contains 11.7 mg of Etonogestrel and 2.7 mg of Ethinylestradiol as active ingredients, in addition to excipients that facilitate its use and efficacy.

Contraindications

Nuvaring is contraindicated in women with a history of venous or arterial thrombosis, myocardial infarction, stroke, breast or genital cancer, and in those who are hypersensitive to the product's components. It is also contraindicated in women suffering from severe liver diseases or who are pregnant.

Precautions

It is important that women who wish to use Nuvaring inform their doctor about their medical history and any existing health conditions. The risk of thrombosis should be evaluated, especially in smoking women over 35 years of age. Likewise, caution should be exercised in women with diabetes, hypertension, or migraines, and regular follow-up with the doctor should be maintained during contraceptive use.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
