Indications
Mistan is indicated for the treatment of acute pain, such as postoperative pain and pain associated with sports injuries. It is also used in the management of chronic conditions, such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, alleviating inflammation and pain. This medication acts by selectively inhibiting the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme, which results in a decrease in the synthesis of prostaglandins, responsible for inflammation and pain. Mistan can be used in patients who do not tolerate other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) due to adverse gastrointestinal effects.
Composition
Each tablet contains 90 mg of etoricoxib as the active ingredient. Excipients: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, starch, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Mistan is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to etoricoxib or any component of the formula. Its use is prohibited in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other NSAIDs, as well as in those with severe hepatic insufficiency, severe renal insufficiency, or in the third trimester of pregnancy. Its use is not recommended in patients with active peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Mistan to patients with a history of cardiovascular problems, hypertension, or kidney diseases. It is important to monitor renal function and blood pressure during treatment. Its use is not recommended in combination with other NSAIDs, anticoagulants, or monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) antidepressants. The risk of thrombotic events should be assessed in patients with cardiovascular risk factors.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
