Indications
Mercilon is a combined oral contraceptive indicated for pregnancy prevention. Its use is effective in fertility control, providing a safe and reliable option for family planning. Additionally, it can be used to regulate irregular menstrual cycles and in the treatment of menstrual disorders, such as menorrhagia or dysmenorrhea. This medication works by inhibiting ovulation, altering cervical mucus, and modifying the endometrium, which makes it difficult for a fertilized egg to implant.
Composition
Each Mercilon tablet contains 0.15 mg of desogestrel and 0.02 mg of ethinylestradiol. Excipients include lactose monohydrate, starch, and other inactive components that facilitate the formulation and stability of the product.
Contraindications
Mercilon is contraindicated in women with a history of venous or arterial thromboembolism, cardiovascular diseases, breast cancer or hormone-dependent organ cancers, and in patients with severe liver diseases. Its use is not recommended in women who experience migraines with aura and in those who have had severe adverse reactions to the components of the formula.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in women with risk factors for thrombosis, such as obesity, smoking, hypertension, or a family history of thrombosis. It is important to undergo a medical examination and regular follow-up during treatment. Patients should inform their doctor about any unusual symptoms that may arise during the use of Mercilon.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
