Indications
Luvik is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adult patients whose blood glucose levels cannot be controlled by diet and exercise alone. This medication is used as an adjunct to a diet and exercise program to improve glycemic control. It can be administered alone or in combination with other oral antidiabetics or insulin. Glimepiride works by stimulating the release of insulin from the pancreas, which helps to lower blood glucose levels.
Composition
Each Luvik tablet contains 4 mg of glimepiride as the active ingredient, as well as excipients such as lactose monohydrate, corn starch, and magnesium stearate.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to glimepiride or any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in cases of type 1 diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, and in those with uncontrolled severe renal or hepatic insufficiency.
Precautions
Special care is recommended in patients with a history of liver or kidney disease, as well as in those who are undergoing concomitant treatment with other medications that may affect glycemic control. Blood glucose should be monitored regularly, and the dose adjusted according to clinical response and glucose levels. In addition, the possibility of hypoglycemia should be considered, especially in situations of stress, infections, or changes in diet and exercise.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
