Indications

Lodestar Zid is indicated for the treatment of arterial hypertension in adults. Its formulation combines Losartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker, and Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, which act synergistically to reduce blood pressure. This medication is useful for the prevention of cardiovascular events in patients with hypertension and additional risk factors, as well as in those with congestive heart failure.

Composition

Each capsule contains: 50 mg of Losartan and 12.5 mg of Hydrochlorothiazide. Excipients: Lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, among others.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Losartan, Hydrochlorothiazide, or any of the excipients. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of angioedema associated with previous therapies with angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. It is also contraindicated in cases of severe renal insufficiency and in anuric patients.

Precautions

It is important to monitor renal function and electrolyte levels in patients starting treatment with Lodestar Zid, especially in those with a history of kidney problems or on concomitant treatments that may affect renal function. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of hyponatremia, hypotension, or those taking diuretics. Dose adjustment is recommended in elderly patients or those with liver disease.

Store in its original packaging at room temperature, protected from light and humidity. Keep out of reach of children.
