Indications
Livial (tibolone) is indicated in postmenopausal women for the treatment of vasomotor symptoms, such as hot flashes and night sweats, as well as for the prevention of osteoporosis. This medication acts as a selective estrogen receptor modulator, offering benefits similar to hormone replacement therapy. In addition, it is used in the management of vaginal atrophy and genitourinary syndrome associated with menopause. Its use must be evaluated and supervised by a physician, considering the medical history of each patient and the duration of the treatment.
Composition
Each Livial tablet contains 2.5 mg of tibolone as the active ingredient. Excipients: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Livial is contraindicated in cases of known hypersensitivity to tibolone or to any of the excipients. Furthermore, it should not be used in women with a history or presence of breast cancer, endometrial cancer, active thromboembolic diseases, undiagnosed abnormal vaginal bleeding, or active liver disease.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of thromboembolic disorders, controlled hypertension, and in those who are being treated with other medications that affect hepatic metabolism. Regular medical follow-up is essential during treatment with Livial.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep in its original packaging and out of the reach of children.
